The airmuscle represents Dyson’s continued advancements in cleaner head technology. New for 2009, the DC28 model is truly engineered to pick up more dirt and is specifically designed to work on both bare floors and carpeting. With a 25 foot power cord, it’s perfect for homes of all sizes.
The technology features a powered cam that raises and lowers the brushbar to adjust to different floor types. This differs from other technology that simply raises the entire cleaner head, which can create air gaps and suction leaks. To eliminate air gaps, a pneumatic actuator literally pulls the cleaner head into the floor, allowing for an optimal seal. In turn, a high torque clutch generates power to the brushbar to remove the toughest dirt and hard to reach dust and debris. It’s the perfect solution for homes with shedding animals and active families. In fact, the DC28 Dyson is so effective at picking up dirt, your floors and carpets will not only look like new, they’ll last much, much longer.

There is a long list of things I would like to add about the Dyson DC28, but first and foremost - The DC28 has provides incredible suction and power. I was not sure if the vacuum was worth the price but has proven to provide cleaning beyond my imagination. The three push button carpet height settings work well on our carpets. Although it seemed heavy at first, it also seems self propelled when the carpet height is set at proper levels. Our capets looks better, and our old vacuum looks like a toy next to the DC28. Our old vacuum's filter clogged all of the time and was a mess to clean. The Dyson's filter still looks brand new and the DC28 does not have the bad smell our old vacuum emitted. The vacuum's recepticle is easy and quick to empty and a great reminder of how much more hair and fur balls the Dyson picks up over our last vacuum. It seems that the Dyson has actually taken some of the work out of cleaning.

I recently purchased this glorious piece of machinery and I absolutely LOVE it! It picks up all the dirt that I cannot see and leaves the air cleaner. I would recommend this to anyone with asthmatic children and or pets in the house. I got an excellent price and the free DC 31 with my order, what a BONUS! My wife and I spent several days searching and researching several upright style vacuums. After much consideration and family recommendation, we purchased the DC28 from Vacuum Direct. After 3 full weeks of use and of cleaning after 2 dogs all we can say is WOW!. We are very excited by the vacuum's ability to remove pet hair from our carpet.
