So how does it work? Efficiently and smart. The iRobot Roomba 560 vacuuming robot uses a systematic algorithm to clean the entire floor surface it is tasked with. The Roomba comes with a rechargeable battery and a compact home base to keep Roomba running and ready to use when you need it. The battery charges in just three hours and provides enough charge to clean up to three rooms in one cleaning cycle. When the Roomba is finished or the battery is nearing the end of its charge cycle, the Roomba 560 automatically returns to its Home Base to charge. By docking at the Home Base, the Roomba 560 is always easy to locate when not in use and easily stores itself out of the way.

What if I only want Roomba to clean specific areas? No problem! The Roomba 560 comes with two virtual walls. The iRobot virtual walls create an invisible barrier that the Roomba will not cross. Whether you want to keep the Roomba in one room, or you want to block off delicate areas, the virtual walls do this without getting in your way or blocking areas from use by you within the home. The sleek, compact size of the virtual wall will blend effortlessly into the decor of your home, without causing distraction or getting in your way.

The Roomba 560 utilizes a 3-stage cleaning system to ensure thorough cleaning on all hard floor types or carpets. The spinning side brush extends from underneath the robot to clean along wall edges and corners. Counter-rotating brushes create a dustpan and broom like action sweeping debris into the robot, while a fine vacuum filter traps micro particles such as dust and pollen inside the bag-less bin. So once dust, hair, and other debris of any size is swept out of the carpet pile, the vacuum feature sucks up the debris and places it in the easy-empty bin. The cleaning head suspension system on the Roomba 560 automatically adjusts between carpets, hardwood, tile, and linoleum flooring, so all your floor types can be vacuumed with one machine, automatically.

The Roomba 560 uses iRobot's well-known iAdapt Responsive Cleaning Technology. This technology is an advanced system of software and sensors which allows the Roomba to clean rooms more thoroughly, cleaning areas you cannot easily reach. The Roomba 560 actually uses over 40 robotic behaviors and makes more than 60 decisions per second to ensure that it vacuums every section of your room while making multiple passes over the same area and focusing extra effort on those heavier soiled areas, just like you would with a traditional vacuum.

The iAdapt technology is responsible for your Roomba making its way under and past furniture, going around plants, and finding its way out of confined areas.
