Rotho Filters

The Rotho Filter Set is the number one accessory purchased for the Rotho Twin TT Steam Cleaning Systems. This set includes all five filters used in the recovery tank, and the two most important filters to your Rotho Twin TT Cleaning System, the HEPA filter and MKA Micro-filter. Always clean or replace your filters at regular intervals

The use of the filter system is different for wet and dry cleaning. Out of the box, The Rotho Twin TT is ready to use in dry-vaccuuming situations right out of the box. For deeper cleaning, the HEPA filter is removed from the machine.

Depending on use, the HEPA filter should be cleaned at least every six months with water (never use detergent or scrub with abrasive materials). A dirty HEPA filter reduces suction power in your Rotho Twin TT Cleaner. If cleaning your HEPA filter does not improve performance in your machine, you should replace the filter with a new one. Also, the filter must be completely dry before being placed back into the machine. If the filter is damp or moist, mildew, bacteria, and fungus can grow in the machine. For this reason, it is convenient to keep an extra HEPA filter on hand.

The Micro-filter (or MKA Micro-exhaust filter) in the Rotho Twin TT Cleaning Machines cannot be cleaned and re-used. This filter is located on the underside of the machine, protected by a filter vent cover. The micro filter should be replaced every six months with a new replacement for optimal performance.

The motor protection filter is located under the HEPA filter. The Rotho Twin TT Cleaning Systems should never be used without the motor protection filter because this will damage the motor. For deep cleaning, the HEPA filter is removed, thus taxing the motor protection filter more than with dry cleaning. For this reason, a motor protection filter is included in the Rotho Filter Set.

Additionally, two other filters make up the complete filtration system within the Rotho Twin TT Cleaners. The foam filter and the wet filter also work to keep your machine functioning properly, while maintaining air quality. These filters can be rinsed, but are often more difficult to clean than the HEPA filter and are taxed heavily during operation of your Rotho Cleaning Machine. You should replace these filters every time you change your micro-filter, or every 6 months, depending on use.
