Douglas

Douglas started in 1902 as a manufacturer of electrical hardware for the automotive industry. In the '40s the company began to produce vacuum cleaners for the Rexair Company but also under its own brand. The company was bought out by Scott & Fetzer in 1968 and in 1971 the manufacturing business was transferred to Arizona. In 1985, Hathaway bought Scott & Fetaer, leaving Douglas to also produce products for Ginsu, American Angler and Quikut brand names.

Douglas currently produces a large range of vacuums for Kirby, Oreck, Sears, and under the brand name of Readivac. The Readivac Tiny Turbo 1000 Watt Canister vacuum is a popular, red vacuum machine. The Tiny Turbo has a dual function brush head that is ideal for carpets and hard surfaces. A foot pedal on the brush head can quickly adjust the height of the brush bar for ideal dirt removal on different surface types. The Tiny Turbo is lightweight and easy to carry around the house. The vacuum also offers onboard accessories and replacement dust bags.
